Thomas Should Ignore Dolan and Do What's Right
But Thomas' decision to play the good company man for Dolan may be beginning to backfire. Twice in the past month, Thomas has tried to explain away his awkward videotaped deposition when he talked about the difference between a black man and a white man calling a black woman a "bitch." The deposition didn't lose the case for Thomas but it has done tremendous damage to his reputation. And yet, Thomas has tried to talk his way around his testimony instead of just doing something that all New Yorkers can relate to: say "I'm sorry." It worked for Jason Giambi and Sprewell so why can't it work for Isiah? Like most bosses, Thomas has his nasty side. But he can also be a charming guy. What harm could it have done if after the deposition was played, Thomas stood before a bank of microphones and simply said, "For those who I have offended I am truly sorry.
Meet Magellan
She is the mother of Richard Merck and Rachel Ann Wolfe, based here in the States. Must admit, she can still charm her audience! While here in New York, Bens portable GPS helped me meet up with my friend, Kaye Tyapon-Bay at Starbucks at the corner of Lexington and East 40th Streets. She said, Without a GPS device, it is hard to go around the city driving. There are many one-way streets. One could easily miss a turn and spend the next 15 or 20 minutes trying to find your way. I also met up with my college buddy, Paul Albano, now a senior sales associate of Corcoran Real Estate Group. Paul said, My portable GPS recalculates in real-time the easiest route, and gives me traffic updates. It helps me get to my client meetings on time. Accuracy? Factors such as dense foliage, tall buildings, electronic interference, and other atmospheric factors affect accuracy.
Bizarre bazaars
"Cute" is a seasonal verity, particularly at holiday bazaars. What's a Christmas craft fair without precious pine cone rings, crocheted tea cozies or knitted kittens wreathed in boughs of holly? With a sly spin on mainstream decorative culture, though, a legion of "indie" artisans has unleashed a new wave of holiday craft shows, where potholders, aprons and ceramic mugs are as saucy as they are cute. At Charm City Craft Mafia's "Holiday Heap" show Dec. 1 at St. John's of Baltimore United Methodist Church, expect a marketplace crammed with such holly-jolly subversion. .
Opinion: Third time will be charm for OSU in '08
Now that LSU has been crowned the national champion — kind of — and the 2007 college football season is in the books, it's never too early to look ahead to 2008. Brace yourselves. You might not like what you're about to read up here at the top. Team to beat: Ohio State. Yes, we suffered through the last two BCS title games just like you. But we can't get away from this idea that the third time will be the charm. It just doesn't seem fair that a team that has gotten this far in the past two seasons returns 19 of 22 starters. .
